MOVIES: Here it is, the first official trailer for The Hunger Games.

Know what's going to make a lot of money regardless of how good it is? This movie. Last night during the VMA's this trailer finally aired...what do I think about it? Well obviously it doesn't show too much. It's clearly the part in the book where the evils running the game send the wildfire after Katniss and she has to escape. But I don't know, for some reason this trailer doesn't make me any more excited for the film. As soon as Jennifer Lawrence was cast as Katniss I felt that she was too naturally beautiful and looked way too old...definitely still feel that way. Yes, when Katniss gets dressed up before the games everyone realizes she is stunning, but when she's battling for her life in the arena I feel like she should be, you know, like dirty, make-up free and anything but "attractive." I don't know, it's hard to make too many assumptions off of this one short trailer. I'm just praying that they don't half-ass this movie since they know it's already going to make a bazillion dollars. Cross your fingers.

MOVIES: Technically, and I mean technically, our first look at Hunger Games footage.

Saying that the shot is more than 1 second long would be a lie; but MTV has put out a little teaser thingy that advertises the airing of The Hunger Games trailer at the Video Music Awards on Sunday. Anyways, here's the video if you want to see a half second of Katniss looking scared.

MOVIES: Our first look at The Hunger Games is very very close.

Via The Hunger Games Facebook Page, it seems that the first ever trailer for the film is going to be aired during the MTV Video Music Awards. The good thing is that the awards are this Sunday at 9pm Eastern; the bad news is that MTV sucks so I won't watch it during the awards show. But don't fret it should be online the same night if not the next day at the latest...maybe even before the awards, who knows. So keep your eyes open on Sunday for our first look at Katniss Everdeen in action! Here's hoping.

MOVIES: Hungry for The Hunger Games?

Yup...that's the title I went with for this piece.

Chances are you're one of the many many people who got sucked into the book series The Hunger Games. Although it seems like everyone only talked about it for a couple of weeks before it fell off the map. Well, that month or so of popularity gave it enough steam to get some big budget movies put in place and now we're starting to see some of the results. Entertainment Weekly has been releasing photos of Katniss, Peeta and Gale over the past couple weeks. I don't know about you but I think they all look too old and clean. It seems Hollywood has gotten a nice firm grip on this series and I'm trying to allow that to lower my expectations so I won't be disappointed. Obviously it's wayyy too early to jump to any conclusions so we'll keep our eyes and ears open for any new info.
