MOVIES: Oh man The Muppets looks awesome.

The Muppets movie campaign that has produced a slew of trailers that say nothing about the actual Muppets movie but focus on making parodies of whatever trailers happen to be popular at the time has been awesome. Honestly I wasn't really excited for the movie until I started seeing these trailers and got the feeling that this movie is going to be so brilliantly silly that it will in fact be awesome. The last trailer was recently released and it features parodies of Paranormal Activity, Twilight, and even the whole campaign for The Muppets movie. I love that Jason Segel has finally gotten his chance to make a Muppets movie and I'm rooting for this movie big time once it hits theaters.

NN REVIEW: Paranormal Activity 3

I think I'm still shaking so I'm going to keep this review short. Paranormal Activity 3 is by far the scariest movie I have ever seen in my life. If you've seen the first 2 and enjoyed them then this movie is for you. It's very much more of the same but it still haunts. Bringing the story all the way to its origins with a young Katie and Kristi we see how the terror began. Once again the performances by the actors make the whole story feel too real for comfort. The young girls were especially impressive with some heavy material to deal with. I don't really know what more I can say about it. Every horror movie maker should take notes from the Paranormal Activity films. It doesn't take over the top gore, sex or language to make a movie scary. Our imagination often conjures haunts far more frightening than anything we can actually see on film and the Paranormal films feed that terror. I was literally trembling for about the last half hour of the film. So if you enjoy scary movies I highly recommend it, but if you don't...do not go see this movie.

My Rating: B

MOVIES: Spooky good.

This weekend saw the release of Paranormal Activity 3. Hopefully what will be the conclusion to what has been one of my favorite horror series ever. The way the Paranormal Activity movies have created something truly terrifying without the use of overdone gore, sexuality or adult content is what I believe to be a big middle finger to all the talentless directors who need those things to make a movie "scary." PA3 snagged $54 million at the box office this weekend dominating all other competition. For the first weekend since its release, Real Steel dropped from the top spot to number 2 with $11.3 million. Footloose came in third with $10.9 millin. The Three Musketeers took the fourth spot with $8.8 million followed by Ides of March which rounded out the top 5 with $4.9 million. I haven't gotten a chance to see PA3 yet but I'll try to get out this week and check it out! What do you want to see right now?
