VIDEO GAMES: Enjoying SWTOR?

You better freakin' be! Because the thing cost $200 million to make! An article on Gameinformer states that in addition to 8 years of work, over $200 million went into developing the hit MMO based in the Star Wars universe. I'm almost level 40 and the sheer amount of content I've already experienced playing only one of the 8 possible classes in the game makes it no surprise to me that the game was so expensive. The range of voice acting is incredible and the world that Bioware has created is one of the most intriguing that I've ever played in. I'm hoping to get to 50 within the next couple of weeks so I can check out the endgame content as it currently stands. Are you playing? Continuing a subscription? Uninterested? Sound off in the comments!

VIDEO GAMES: So it begins.

Today, for the people who pre-ordered Battlefield 3 on PC through Origin or those who purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor (like 3 people) the Battlefield 3 beta is open! If you're one of those people and you haven't gotten your beta key yet, don't fret, the folks over at Battlefield have said that they will be sent out intermittently between 1pm and 3pm central time. For those of you who didn't pre-order through Origin or didn't buy Medal of Honor you'll have to wait 2 whole days for the open beta to begin. The beta will feature only multiplayer and it sounds like only one map as well. The game is set to hit shelves on October 25 and honestly this beta will be a big influence over whether or not I buy it on that day. Will Battlefield 3 live up to the insane hype it's been building? Or will it be one gorgeous misfire?

VIDEO GAMES: Take to the ice in NHL 12 today!

Tuesdays are a common day for games to be released and today NHL 12 skates onto shelves. If any of you haven't owned an NHL game since they redesigned the system with NHL 09 I highly recommend checking it out. I bought NHL 09 and became thoroughly addicted. It offered countless screaming nights with my floormates in the dorms and I've completed six seasons in "Be a Pro" mode with my goalie. The only reason I haven't bought an NHL game since then is because I've pumped so much time into '09 I would hate to lose all that work. I do think with '13 it will be time to upgrade though. Anyways, in recent years the NHL games have all gotten rave reviews and it sounds like '12 is no different.
