MOVIES: How do you like your Superman now?...ladies.

Holy nuts. Some set photos were released today of Henry Cavill as "Superman" in the upcoming Man of Steel movie. Why is "Superman" in quotes you ask? Well because if you weren't told these pictures were from the set of Superman you'd think they were from Heroic Hunky Homeless Man. Cuz yea, Cavill IS sporting a beard and NOT sporting a shirt which I think most ladies would prefer be his look for the entire movie. I'm guessing they won't have to CG his muscles in the final product...I'm gunna go do 20 push-ups now....Also, spoilers! There's a helicopter in the movie.

 

MOVIES: Official synopsis for Superman: Man of Steel

It is incredibly vague and sounds like the classic Superman story, but ComicBookMovie has released the official synopsis for Superman: Man of Steel. Since some early rumors were that Clark Kent would be settling feuds between battling tribes in Africa I'm very happy that appears to not be the case. What do you guys think?

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves"

 

MOVIES: The quest to reveal spoilers for movies knows no bounds.

In this particular scenario, we have a guy, literally hiding in the bushes on the outskirts of the Super Man: Man of Steel set, narrating the video he is no doubt taking from his phone. There's not much in the way of spoilers here, except that there will be a scene outdoors, with Kevin Costner, while people are running...riveting. Anyways it gave me a laugh so you might want to check it out. I guess it's technically our first footage from Man of Steel.

MOVIES: Look! Up in the sky! It's Superman!!!

Ooh boy do I love Superman. Talk about the super hero that has defined the genre since the beginning. Completely indestructible except for a little green rock from outer space, Clark Kent has always been one of my favorite super heroes. Needless to say, I'm very excited that Zack Snyder is rebooting the franchise with the master Christopher Nolan producing. Superman: Man of Steel doesn't hit theaters until 2013 unfortunately but today we get our very first look at Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel! I'll try not to get too excited though since I still have to wait almost an entire 2 years before the movie actually comes out. Superman: Man of Steel is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2013.
