Want to start off your Friday right? Then check out these two videos featuring some more game play footage from Gamescom! The first gives us 6 minutes of a dungeon in Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the second is about 4 minutes from Super Mario 3D Land! Both look really good in my opinion, although I'm personally more excited for Mario since I no longer have a Wii.

GAMESCOM: Could you possibly be playing Diablo III on your XBOX 360?
Maybe. Wait, what? Blizzard doesn't make console games, that's ridiculous! Maybe not, according to 1UP Blizzard seems to be teasing that Diablo III might actually be available for more than our computers! At Gamescom, lead designer Josh Mosqueria stated that Blizzard is "very, very serious about bringing the Diablo III experience to consoles." Also he said that Blizzard is hiring programmers, designers, artists, etc. all needed to bring Diablo to our beloved Xbox and Playstation systems! Wow, if I had a choice I might like to play DIII on my Xbox but only time will tell. What do you think? Would you even want it available for consoles??
More on the story at 1UP HERE!

GAMESCOM: Does Mario Kart 7 look amazing???
Heck freakin yes it does! Here's a 7 minute YouTube video of Mario Kart being played at Gamescom and I cannot wait for it to come out! This is a perfect example of one of the games that will eventually make the 3DS an awesome portable system packed with tons of great titles both new and old from Nintendo. We also see some new touches like being able to select from different chassis, wheels, etc. for your kart before each race! The tracks played in the demo also looks awesome, I mean come on, your kart gets a hang glider when you soar through the air! The only bad part about Mario Kart 7 is that we have to wait until December 4th to get it!

GAMESCOM: Yes! Sonic Generations looks awesome!
Oh it's been so long. So so long since we had a truly great Sonic game. A franchise that still has tons of people waiting and hoping for a game that brings back the things that make sonic awesome. Dashing through incredible, scenic levels at breakneck speeds while defeating bad guys and collecting coins sounds simple enough, but there's something special about Sonic. This trailer fresh from Gamescom shows some sweet footage from Sonic Generations and it looks like this may just be the game we've been waiting for! Sonic Generations is set to hit the Nintendo 3DS, Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 late this year!
GAMESCOM: If you have a Wii, mark your calendars.
Because Nintendo has announced the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword! On November 20, Nintendo fans can play what is likely going to be the last major release title on the Wii. Using all the features of the WiiMote, Skyward sword should offer a fairly unique experience when compared to the other Zelda games. I must say I'm a fan of how the game looks, sort of a hybrid between Windwaker and Ocarina of Time. Although I sold my Wii a couple months ago (it was becoming nothing more than a dust collector), I'll be interested to hear all the reviews and such when Skyward Sword hits shelves.

GAMESCOM: The Cataclysm is drawing to an epic finale!
In an interview at Gamescom today, Blizzard has revealed what players can look forward to in what will likely be the final patch of Cataclysm, the most recent expansion. Patch 4.3 will finally open up the raid where the bravest of the brave can face off against the terrifying Deathwing (that fight is going to be insane). Also, there will be three new five man instances and a transmogrifier. A transmogrifier allows players to make their current armor look like other armor that they have. So if you dominated in vanilla WoW and have your awesome Tier 2 swag, you can pay some gold to rock that Judgement again while keeping your current stats. Sounds pretty cool to me! Anyways, more information is sure to come about patch 4.3 and the next expansion Mists of Pandaria (rumored) at BlizzCon in October!

GAMESCOM: An awesome, very extended trailer for Guild Wars 2.
Apparently at Gamescom this year, some lucky people are getting to play a demo of the game. So far everything that we've seen from Guild Wars 2 looks incredible and I'm starting to get really high hopes for it. It sounds like a majority of what the people at Gamescom will get to play is the new PvP in GW2 that is supposed to appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers...I'm excited. Check out this long trailer for the game to hold you over for now!

GAMESCOM: Gameplay from The Old Republic
So we've been looking at countless awesome trailers and videos for the highly highly highly anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic but we haven't really seen much actual game play...until now. A great demo has come out of Gamescom that actually shows a real group of people actually doing stuff (and failing quite miserably). I like how it looks so far, but it's hard to tell without actually getting to play it first hand. Here's hoping.

GAMESCOM: New features for the Playstation Vita
The iPhones have shown that we're rapidly moving towards having one mobile device in your pocket that supports your phone, internet, social media and gaming needs. Well the newest handheld gaming systems are certainly trying to do the same i.e. Netflix on the 3DS etc. Sony announced today that the Playstation Vita will be even more geared towards the social media by supporting Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter and Skype. For those who enjoy a more serious handheld gaming system, the Vita will definitely be for you. As for me, I'm still enjoying my 3DS immensely.

GAMESCOM: Breaking news from Gamescom!
Well not really breaking news. I mean it's breaking in that we just heard it, but it wasn't really highly anticipated or anything. But nearly five years after hitting shelves, the Playstation 3 has experienced a price drop! Effective immediately you can now buy a PS3 for $249.99. Not a bad price for an amazing gaming system and a Blu-ray player eh? Anyways, I'm kind of upset it took this long; I mean it only took Nintendo 4 months to drop the price of the 3DS....zing! So ya, go buy a PS3 if you want one.
