MOVIES: Big Fish.

This weekend's box office was difficult to predict. After two absolutely stellar weekends would Lion King stay on top? The answer is nope, not quite. Surprisingly, to me at least, this weekend's number one spot in the box office went to the newly released Dolphin Tale which snagged $14.3 million. It looks like right now the youngsters are dominating at the box office as we went from one movie aimed to a younger demographic to another. Although I'm not too interested in Dolphin Tale it has gotten pretty strong reviews with an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and it sounds like it's a great movie for the whole family, plus dolphins are freaking awesome. Second place belonged to Moneyball which saw a good second weekend with $12.5 million. Lion King fell to third but is still doing well with $11 million and a total take of almost $80 million! It's doing so well in fact that they have decided to keep it in theaters for an additional week and if you haven't seen it already I highly recommend you take advantage of this extra week! The cancer "comedy" 50/50 starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Gordon came in at fourth with $8.85 million and fifth place went to Courageous which grabbed $8.8 million. I've seen everything that I wanted to in theaters right now with the exception of 50/50 which I'm hoping to see next weekend. What have you seen in the past couple weeks?
