TELEVISION: Is The Walking Dead infected?

So last year we were treated to The Walking Dead. A show that gave us zombie lovers something to look forward to each week; at least for a couple weeks before the episodes started getting a little less interesting. But all in all the first season should be labeled a pretty big success in my eyes. So, like we expected and hoped, they signed on for season 2. And now it seems things might be getting a little rocky with the show. A couple of weeks ago it was revealed that Frank Darabont was no longer going to be a part of The Walking Dead. Since he was pretty much the man behind everything going on it came as quite a shock. Since then rumors as to why he left have been sprouting up left and right. Some said he wasn't used to the grueling schedule of doing a television show, a few days ago it was revealed that AMC may have been making some money available so they could give more funds to Mad Men (their most popular show by far), but today The Hollywood Reporter is posting that Darabont may have in fact been fired from the show. It sounds like the main issue around his departure was budget disagreements with AMC. Also, apparently AMC has been telling the cast and crew to keep quiet about the issues surrounding Darabont's departure. It will be interesting to see how this affects season 2 of The Walking Dead but I really really hope they can find the same blend of drama, action and character development that we saw in the first few episodes of season 1. Only time will tell if The Walking Dead is on its death bed or not.
