TECH: The future is now...

Well, I mean, it's on the way. Remember the time when the stuff we saw in sci-fi movies was too far-fetched to be plausible? It seems that we're getting closer to living in a time with flying cars and robot helpers in every household. Today, Google has released a video showing off one of their concepts for future development and it's pretty dang impressive. The concept is basically glasses that act as your source for absolutely everything you need. It's your map, Google+ screen, telephone, video chat, Siri-like assistant, basically everything you need right in front of your face. The video shows a first person perspective of what this technology could someday look like and it's fun to think about the fact that we live in a time where this is being presented as a serious development. What do you think? Would you wear the Google+ Glasses? The development is being called "Project Glass" and you can follow its development HERE!

MOVIES: The Prestige Rises

Well with the imminent release of The Dark Knight Rises, there's no doubt that we're going to receive a flurry of trailer "mash-ups" for the movie. Most of them will be stupid, poorly edited, and a waste of our time. But some...some will be brilliant. Dominaz3000 has used Michael Caine's speech from The Prestige regarding the three acts of a magic trick and applied it to the three films of the Nolan Batman saga. The result is probably the best mash up trailer I've ever seen. This honestly gave me chills as the dialogue worked so brilliantly to describe the Batman trilogy. Check this out and revel in the awesomeness of nerds.

VIDEO GAMES: Star Wars fans are the best.

Why? Because when an awesome new Star Wars game like Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out, we go freaking nuts and do things like flash mobs in the center of New York City. Odds are you've already seen this video of the lightsaber flash mob that took place the other day but it's still pretty awesome. I wish I would have been there to take part because it surely would have been awesome! So watch this video and go play SWTOR if you haven't been because it's truly amazing!

YOUTUBE: One of the most epic mash-ups ever.

Dear Lord this is absolutely incredible. Someone has made a video that combines Vader's final moments from Return of the Jedi, clips from The Clone Wars TV show, music from Inception and Charlie Chaplin's final speech from The Great Dictator. Seriously this is so epicly nerdy and awesome that I can't stop watching it. Check it out if you like any of those things listed above.

YOUTUBE: Gosh these guys are so stinkin' funny!

Not sure if any of you are familiar with the "Literal" trailers that Tobuscus posts on Youtube, but based on the fact that this video has 7 million views it's likely that you've at least seen a few of them. Anyways, there's not too much news today so I figured I'd post one of my favorite trailers they have done. I also highly recommend watching all the other trailers they've posted because most of them end with me laughing hysterically trying to catch my breath.

YOUTUBE: Sundays are painfully boring on the internet.

So I'll post something that's not news related. I present you today with what are perhaps the greatest movie reviews ever made. Most of you have probably already seen them, but if you haven't, boy are you in for a treat. In these videos, RedLetterMedia carefully breaks down each of the Star Wars prequels to prove how terrible they truly are. Not just because they do so many things that ruin what was great about the originals, but because they are simply bad movies. From the pacing, to the camera angles, to the acting, the list goes on and on. The reviews are silly and often have me in tears because I'm laughing so hard. But the most important part is that the reviewer freaking loves the old movies; and that's what gives these reviews so much weight in my opinion. He's not just a guy who hates all  things Star Wars. He's one of us who so desperately wanted the prequels to be incredible. Ultimately, these reviews make me love the original trilogy even more...which I didn't think was possible. So sit back and enjoy these awesome reviews on your lazy Sunday evening!
