MOVIES: It's Happening!!!

I can't believe it! The Avengers movie is actually happening! We have a real, two minute, incredible trailer full of awesome Avengeness! Seriously this just got me so excited!

MOVIES: Finally Avengers photos that aren't leaked.

The amount of leaked photos and videos from The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers has been so ridiculous over the past month or so that I've just stopped posting whenever anything leaked. Mostly because I don't want to see the leaked stuff myself, but also partly because I'm lazy. But Marvel has finally released some "official" photos from The Avengers that aren't taken on someone's cell phone from behind a bush a half mile from the set. I think my favorite one is the one of Thor and Captain America looking up at something that will probably be terribly terrible. Also Scarlett Johansson. Next year is going to be an epic summer and my expectations for The Avengers continue to rise. So check out the pics and get excited for 2012!

MOVIES: Two of my favorite Marvel movies get some info on sequels.

Now it seems that I am actually in a minority of people who truly enjoyed Thor. I'm not sure why either people didn't seem to like it or why I found it so fun to watch. But anyways, like any movie that makes money these days there will be a sequel. Collider is reporting that Marvel president Kevin Feige has revealed plans for Thor 2 stating,

"[Thor 2 will] primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds."

Soo it doesn't say much but hey, I'll take what I can get.

In other Marvel sequel news Chris Evans, the star of Captain America revealed that the sequel to Cap'n will hit theaters in 2014. Now I guess the sequel to Captain has to take place in current times? I'm not entirely sure how they'll do it. But I freaking loved Captain America so I'm looking forward to him having his own movie at least one more time.

 

MOVIES: Not familiar with the characters in The Avengers? Marvel's got your back.

So it sounds like Marvel is going to be releasing a set of comics aimed at introducing people to the characters of The Avengers so everyone can be up to speed once the movies come out. Titled, "Road to The Avengers," these comics will probably give us back stories not just of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor whom we all know, but hopefully also Hawkeye, Nick Fury, The Hulk and Black Widow who may be a little less familiar to the general public. I'm not sure whether or not these "comics" will be actual physical products that we have to pay for, or if they'll be some sort of free marketing campaign online. I'm hoping the latter.
