MOVIES: Will "Small Fry" be as awesome as "Hawaiian Vacation"?

I reported a couple days ago that a brand new Toy Story short would be airing before The Muppets movie on November 23rd. Since Hawaiian Vacation was so much fun when it showed before Cars 2, (thankfully because the movie was terrible) I'm extremely excited to get a brief encounter with the gang once more. Today Collider has provided us with a few more details about the short titled "Small Fry" straight from D23!

Basically: Buzz gets left behind at a restaurant and during his journey home meets some happy-meal type toys. One of the toys, a mermaid type character, will be voiced by Jane Lynch.

I'm excited not only because this short will no doubt be awesome, but also because The Muppets is sure to be a good time as well! See you at the theaters on November 23rd!

D23: Future plans for 2 Pixar projects revealed!

So this weekend is D23, the big Disney Expo that we should get some awesome news from. Well @DisneyPixar has just tweeted,

 "What if that life-changing asteroid missed Earth? Director Bob Peterson’s hilarious tale depicts a world where dinosaurs never went extinct."

So it sounds like one of the upcoming Pixar films will be about a world that is still inhabited by dinosaurs. Now personally, I'm a sucker for dinosaurs. They're freaking awesome and it's easy for someone to make something dinosaur related that I enjoy. That being said, my expectations for a Pixar made dinosaur movie will be insanely high. You now have a studio that has literally made 10 nearly perfect films with only 2 "duds" if you could call the Cars films that, making a movie about dinosaurs!
UPDATE: The dinosaur movie is set for release in 2013.

"From director Pete Docter comes an inventive new film that explores a world that everyone knows, but no one has seen: inside the human mind."

In case you don't know, Pete Docter directed Monsters Inc. and UP. If you don't like either of those then there's something wrong with your very soul. Anyways, this certainly sounds original and I can't wait to see how they approach it. Oh man, I'm pumped. I'll update this article as more details are released throughout the weekend!

D23: Want more Toy Story? You got it!

For anyone who saw Cars 2, I think you'd agree that the best part of that movie was the Toy Story short, "Hawaiian Vacation," that showed before the movie. It was hilarious, smart and a wonderful way to be able to see the gang again, even if it was only for a few minutes. Well guess what, we're getting another Toy Story short before a movie soon! It was announced yesterday at the D23 Expo that a brand new Toy Story short will be shown before The Muppets which hits theaters November 23. The short is titled "Small Fry" and is directed by Angus MacLane; but other than that we don't know anything about it. But I don't care. It's gunna be awesome. So will The Muppets. Get excited.
