VIDEO GAMES: Could a new console be entering the battle?

So over the past couple of months there have been murmurs on the internet about Valve potentially developing their own console. Well today that rumor got a little more steam as The Verge has stated that this may be more than just a rumor. Apparently we could be getting more news at the upcoming GDC or later in the year at E3! There's an article with more details over at Kotaku but it sounds like this will be a system unlike any others we've seen before. It will play PC games and obviously run Steam to easily purchase and download games. It could be made by multiple developers (which I don't really understand) and it would have configurable controllers and a bracelet which "would incorporate a player's biometric data to affect games." Sound nuts? Yea it does. We should find out this year whether or not there's any meat to this rumor and I'd be extremely interested to see how they would try to market this thing. Obviously it would appeal to PC gamers, but would it be better than just using a PC? I'm extremely interested to see how this plays out over the next couple of months.
