MOVIES: Let's be honest, is this worth the risk?

The Farrelly brothers are the boys behind Dumb and Dumber, one of the greatest comedies of all time. It's the first movie I ever saw with Jim Carrey that proved that if silliness and stupidity is done correctly, it can be comedic brilliance. Since then, the brothers have been involved with movies like Shallow Hal, The Heartbreak Kid and Hall Pass which are nowhere near as great as Dumb and Dumber. Well apparently now the brothers want to focus their efforts on making another Dumb and Dumber movie with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Ok the pro is obviously that if this movie does in fact get made and all the pieces come together we could get another nugget of comedic brilliance. The cons are that the odds of that happening are, in my opinion, not very high. I kind of view Dumb and Dumber as one of those movies that was on the brink of being terrible but stumbled into the category of brilliance. I'm not sure if lightning could strike twice with the story of Harry and Lloyd and personally I don't think it's worth trying. But who knows, I still think this probably won't happen but the buzz on the internets today is that the Farrelly boys really want to do it. We'll see.
